St. Stanislaus Church, 1891 Established in 1873 as the mother parish for Polish Roman Catholics in Cleveland, the present St. Stanislaus Church building was begun in 1886 and dedicated on November 15, 1891. Dubbed the "Temple on Tod Street" (East 65th Street) when built, the church cost $150,000 and was second only to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City as the largest Gothic-style church in the United States. It recently underwent a complete interior restoration.
